The year of 2011 was a full traffic but an honorific for the Asian Weightlifting  .The year we put  it behind , began by the weightlifting competitions of Grand Prix  which Fujian in China  was the host in January . The other city of Tongling in China , was the site of the Asian Weightlifting Championships in Senior Category of Men and Women  in April in which the world contenders of  this sport field compete together . These battles in fact were considered as some kind of preparation  for the Paris World Championships . In the World Youth Weightlifting Championships held in Lima ,Peru in May , the Asians glittered well and like the previous round , owned several  valuable titles and medals . This honor was repeated once more in 2011 World Junior Championships for the Asian Men and Women taken place in Penang , Malaysia . The Chinese hosted the weightlifting competitions of the 26th World Universiade  in August . Although this year’s competitions involved some  downfall in comparison with the former cycle in aspect of the number of the participants   , they were occurred in a very accurate and disciplined manner .The Asian Youth and Junior Championships were held in Pattaya , Thailand in September that undoubtedly , the good  hosting of the Thais was considerable . In November , the World Senior Weightlifting Championships was held in Paris , that this court also contained honors and pride for the Asian Men and Women . That in the  7 weight categories of men ( except   105 kg ) all the titles went to the Asians and in the Women squad some good medals allotted to them , indicates that the Asian are on the top levels of this sport field in the world . Of course we should accept ,in the Women’s squad , the glittering of the Russians caused most of the medals not to  be allotted to the Chinese and in fact it can be said , nowadays , a new contender is being observed within the competitions . In November, the 26th Southeast Asian (SEA ) Games was held in Palembang, Indonesia and also , in this month the Asian Inter-Clubs Championships  in the two categories of Seniors and Juniors were held in Tashkent , Uzbekistan , the competitions in which , some good records were registered and the contests of the 85kg weight category were held  in the world level . The 12th Arab Games was held in Doha , Qatar in December , in a very disciplined status so as to be closed the file of weightlifting competitions in the world wide continent in 2011 .However , one of the most important event of 2011 was the AWF Elections held in March , in Tashkent , Uzbekistan in which the AWF EB and most of the Committees enjoyed some changes in their members . Mr. Yousef Al Mana Mohamed from Qatar was elected as the President , Ali Moradi was elected as the General Secretary  for the third time .
