|
 |
What happened in the first three weight categories of the Men’s and Women’s weightlifting Championships being run in the Penang , Malaysia , was a glittering beyond the forecasted for the Asian Weightlifting , and it can be said that the Asians were the absolute conquerors of the majority of the competitions’ light weight categories .
In the Women’s weight category of the 48 kg the athletes of China and Thailand owned all the gold and silver medals and of course the representatives of N. Korea , Kazakhstan , Japan , Indonesia , Chinese Taipei and even India offered an acceptable demonstrations .
In the weight category of 53kg all the medals reached to the Asians and the weightlifters of China , N. Korea and Thailand didn’t let the other countries’ weightlifters share the medals and even the forth position of total movements reached to the japan .
In the weight category of the 58kg , the athletes of China , N. Korea , Thailand and Philippine could gain medals . The considerable point was that in the table of total movements the first 5 positions were allocated to the Asians .
In the Men’s Class , the performances of the Asian representatives were admirable . In the weight category of 56kg , the weightlifters of China ,I.R. Iran Vietnam and N. Korea owned the nine medals and in the final ranking the first seven people of this category were merely from Asia that it was very considerable in its own share .
In the weight category of 62kg , the medals of gold , silver and bronze allotted to the weightlifters from China , Turkmenistan, S. Korea , Indonesia and Japan . In the weight category of 69 kg , although the Albanian weightlifter gained one gold and two silver , the representatives of China and I.R. Iran obtained 5 colorful medals as well.
However , gaining 47 colorful medals in the 6 weight categories in the World Junior ( Men’s and Women’s ) Championships and registering a new record in the Women’s 58 kg category indicates that making background in the weightlifting sport in Asia has been considered as a serious subject and also shows its real position in Asia .
It’s very important to say that from the 47 gained medals , the Chinese 18 medals , the Thais 9 medals , the N. Koreans 6 medals , the Iranians 4 medals , the Vietnamese 3 medals , the Indonesians and Turkmens each ones 2 medals and the representatives of the Philippines , S. Korea Japan each ones 1 medals were shared and it indicates the weightlifting sport has been made progress in many different countries in Asia and its progress hasn’t been allotted to some special countries.

The 2011 competitions were held by the absence of some popular women and men weightlifters of Asia and the world ; however , the attempts of 33 women lifters and 54 men lifters caused to be broken the records of Asia for three times ; ZHOU Lulu the 23 years-old from China the weightlifter of +75 kg. of Women category in the absence of JANG Mi-ran from S. Korea took a huge step by haltering the weight of 141 in Snatch and improved the Asia record for one kilo .

However , the hands of the other athletes of the Asian countries were not empty and in addition to the host country 11 other countries shared in gaining the medals .
In the Women’s portion beyond the Chinese , the performances of Macao , DPR Korea , Chinese Taipei and even Hong-Kong were considerable and of course Japan , Kazakhstan and India in the aspect of medal gaining , had good situations . In this portion , the absence of Arab countries representatives were obviously clear.
In the Men’s portion , The Iranian and Kazakh did well and compete closely together to gain the second position in the team scoring and in fact the Kazakh with a more weightlifter and obtaining 19 points stood on upper than Iran on the second winner place . Although DPR Korea appeared very well in this portion , the phenomenon of the battles was Syria that could attract the attention of the experts to itself .
As a whole , this year’s competitions displayed a few new figures as phenomenon and surely the competitions in the men’s portion were more sensitive and compressed than the women’s portion . Anyway , it’s expected the Arab countries’ presence would be strong in the further competitions of Asian Championships so as to add to the excitement of them and spread in all over the widest continent of the world.

Just a few days has remained to the commence of Asian Weightlifting Federation and soon the new authorities of this organization management will be designated for a period of four- years for 2011-2014.
The election of this cycle has an essential difference with other former cycles because of the numbers of the candidates and now the most Asian countries hope to take the opportunity to achieve the management seats in a democratic atmosphere without any secret activities in back of the curtain.
The presence of some young and experienced figures by together proves that the intention to serve in Asian weightlifting has been made among all classes and categories and it is regarded as a privilege for the continent's organization. On the other hand , the section of several experienced Asian managers in the IWF Elections two years ago , proved that owning experience and being success in handling the Asian affairs of weightlifting can be a launching platform for those who has aimed the distant horizons of IWF . as the current IWF General secretary has grown from the heart of the Asian Weightlifting and finally achieved whatever was his worthiness . Today , the presence of the representatives of 38 Asian countries in the AWF Elections indicates that the handlers of this sport field in the wide continent have grown up thoughtfully and would like to share in their destinies . In fact they consider the elections' atmosphere democratically to take part in it . Nowadays , less Asian can be found to be under impression of the others' thoughts and the general public vote by leaning on wisdom and mind. Luckily , the Asian Weightlifting Federation has achieved solidarity , union and firmness since the last decade and the obtained successes is indebted by this organization's features. Continuing this general way of thinking can provide much better days for this exciting sport and change Asia into a definite pole of this sport field . As in the past few years the most creditable medals and titles in different ages of Men and Women have allocated to the weightlifters of our continent. This matter shows that the procedure offered by the AWF authorities and handlers was efficient and right that led to such conclusions.
