The Typhoon of Liu Chunhong in the University of Aeronautics and Astronautic Gymnasium   Today in 2008 Beijing Olympic and in the women's weightlifting competitions in 69kg. category a marvelous event happened and Liu Chunhong from China as the first in attendance weightlifter of the competitions ,could increase the senior world record in the mentioned weight. Changing the standards of different categories of

World Weightlifting Championships

The standards of various sections of World Weightlifting Championships will be modified very soon. By the year 2009, the Asian Youth Weightlifting Championships will have been held among the youth athletes aged between 13 to 16 . The World Junior Weightlifting Championships used to be held at the age of 13 to 18. But it has been decided and stipulated to change the junior age from 14 to 20.The World Senior Weightlifting Championships should be held among athletes of 13 and over. On the other hand, the Olympic Championships will be held from 16 and over .

The Best Lifters of The Olympic History

Weightlifting has been on the programme of the Olympic Games every year except for 1900, 1908 and 1912.The Olympic weightlifting programme has developed a great deal throughout the decades. Today lifters compete in the snatch and the clean and jerk and are classified according to their combined total result. At the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, men competed in eight bodyweight categories: up to 56kg, 62kg, 69kg, 77kg, 85kg, 94kg, 105kg and +105kg. Women participated in seven categories: up to 48kg, 53kg, 58kg, 63kg, 69kg, 75kg, and +75kg. The allocation of 60 Quota for Asian Lifters on the Olympic Competitions by the end of 2007

The Olympic Weightlifting Championships will be held on August 9-19, 2008 in Beijing the capital city of China . It has been confirmed that, 90 Women & 170 Men athletes will participate in the above Weightlifting Championships. Furthermore, Asian Senior Weightlifting Championships will be held on April 27 th – May 2 nd , 2008 in Kanazawa city, Japan . This is the last and vital opportunity for all the athletes representing from different countries to achieve qualification places. According to the reliable sources, 36 Asian Men as well as 24 Women athletes have succeeded so far to obtain the permission to attend the 2008 Olympic Weightlifting Championships. While there are still 44 Quota left for Men and 29 for Women to let them compete against their adversaries from all over the world. Here is the full list name of the entire Asian countries eligible and qualified to enter the Olympic Competitions more easily. The lo 16 . The World Junior Weightlifting Championships used to be held at the age of 13 to 18. But it has been decided and stipulated to change the junior age from 14 to 20.The World Senior Weightlifting Championships should be held among athletes of 13 and over. At the IWF Executive Board meeting held recently, all Executive Board Members of IWF unanimously made a decision to follow up on the Doping Control issue more strictly and seriously afterwards. The Competition place of all the events of the World Weightlifting Championships has been determined until the year 2010

The competition place of all events of the World Weightlifting Championships has recently been specified at the recent meeting of IWF Executive Board. With respect to the Canadian withdrawal from holding the 2008 World Junior Championships .The above Championships will probably be held in Colombia . According to the votes taking by the high-ranking officials, it has been concluded to hold the 2009 World Junior Weightlifting Championships in Romania . There were two Candidates that had already been nominated to be the host of 2010 World Weightlifting Championships. In the end, Bulgaria successfully could obtain more percentage of votes rather than Colombia . Likewise, the 2011 World Junior Weightlifting Championships will be held in Peru . On the other hand, the 2008 World Senior Weightlifting Championships will be held in Beijing , China .
