At dawn of Wednesday , the 18th of January 2012 , one of the Weightlifting idols who had played a great part in enhancing world weightlifting , said farewell to the terrestrial globe. Dr. Asghar Shahabi , the former IWF and AWF Medical Committee member who recently had been appointed as the honorary lifetime chairman of AWF Medical Committee , confronted with a brain incident during the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships held in Thailand and in spite of taking care of him specifically , at last he passed away this morning in his hometown ,Tabriz. Dr. Shahabi , with 50 years experience in weightlifting field , offered some valuable services to the weightlifting world . It was probable to be broken the World Record of 85 kg Men The Asian Inter-Clubs Championships always contains some exciting news for the fan and devotees of weightlifting sport all over the world . The latest news is about the Iranian weightlifter of 85kg category , MORADI Sohrab’s parading in the Senior Asian Championships . Sohrab who was absent in the World Senior Weightlifting Championships held in Paris for unknown reason , could raise the weight of 176 kg in Snatch , 208 kg in Clean & Jerk and with 384 kg in Total gained the all three gold medals . This weightlifter , in his Clean & Jerk attempts wanted to lift the weight of 219 kg but he was unlucky at the last moments that the barbell fell down . If this movement had been performed perfectly , Moradi would have improved new records of Clean & Jerk and Total of 85kg after 13 years and 3 years respectively . The quorum taken by MORADI in the Asian Inter-Club Championships in Total , was two kilos more than the best record gotten in the World Senior Championships in Paris . Newsworthy DENG Wei the weightlifter of the 58kg Women category from China , improved the record of the total movement of the World Junior weightlifting Championships being held in Penang , Malaysia these days . This 18 years-old athlete by haltering the weight of 110 kg , repeated the current record of the World Junior which has been gained by WANG Li from China in Bali , Indonesia in 2003 . DENG Wei lifted the weight of 133 in Clean & Jerk so as to gain the three gold medals and with 243 kg in total registered a new record to her own name in the World Junior Championships . Of course the previous record of the total movement of this weight category belonged to this athlete achieved last year during the Singapore Youth Olympic Games . She could set this record by 242kg in 17 years old. DENG Wei who is considered as the first record breaker of the 2011 World Junior Championships , could raise the weight of 110 kg in Snatch , 132kg in Clean & Jerk in the 2010 Singapore Youth Olympic Games .
