A new World Record set by OM Yun Chol from DPR Korea during 2013 Asian Interclub Senior Weightlifting Championships in Pyongyang
OM Yun Chol representing DPR Korea victoriously succeeded to set a new world record in his clean & Jerk attempt during 2013 Asian Interclub Senior Weightlifting Championships in Pyongyang.
It is worth pointing out that in Men’s 56 kg category he strongly managed to lift 120kg in snatch surpassing all his rivals. Go Suk Kyo from South Korea was able to lift 110kg taking the silver medal and then DENG Ya Wei from China stood on the third winning place with a lift of 109kg.
In Clean & Jerk , once again it was OM Yun Chol from the host country who astonished the spectators by lifting 169 kg. By doing this he managed to improve the world record to 1 kg becoming the new world record holder in Men’s 56 kg bodyweight category. The same as snatch, Go Suk Kyo from South Korea obtained the silver medal with a lift of 142 kg and DENG Ya Wei from China became the bronze medalist by lifting 141 kg.
Once again the same story occurred in total, OM Yun Chol from DPR Korea could attain the gold medal with a total lift of 289 kg making a name for himself in the history of weightlifting competitions.
Once again Go Suk Kyo from South Korea achieved the second rank with a total lift of 252 kg and finally Chinese Lifter DENG Ya Wei became the bronze medalist with a total lift of 250kg.
